Ambopteryx Incoming

Pencil drawing of Ambopteryx, a bizarre feathered dinosaur from the Late Jurassic of China, pursuing a snakefly. Ambopteryx was about the size of a pigeon and had, rather than aerodynamic lift-generating feathers, bat-like wing membranes supported by a wrist styliform element. A scansoriopterygid, Ambopteryx was related to other weird dinosaurs such as Epidexipteryx hui and Yi qi.
