Haast's Eagle and Moa
Haast's eagle is the largest known bird of prey, with a wingspan of up to three meters. It lived in New Zealand alongside its prey, the giant moa, until both became extinct in the 1400s. Painted for the introductory chapter of a book on Australian raptor rehabilitation.
